The only good thing I can say about it is that it can take more damage than the player and doesn't kill you if it dies with you in it. P to Pickup, Q for Quick Turn, Z for some special alt-fire things? What? There's even a mechanic revolving around using the mech's claw hand to spin machine parts, the hint for which saying that you spin with WASD, but you actually have to mash F.Ĭheckpoints are plentiful enough, but suffer from the cardinal sin of being placed before unskippable cutscenes, like boss encounters. Also, if you change from running right to left or vice-versa while firing your gun, your shooting will be interrupted as your character readjusts, even if you're shooting at one point the entire time.ĭefault controls are terrible. Shotgun sounds nice and does okay damage, assault rifle is garbage, hunting rifle is okay, pistol requires the damage upgrade to be even passable, etc. Playing on the highest difficulty, the game does feel a bit BS at times, like minibosses killing you outright in two hits or the second area of the game demanding you defend yourself against a swarm of enemies with nothing but your weakest weapon. It's not badly done, but it is loud by default and *needs* to be turned down, yet lacks a master volume slider This might be the loudest program I've run on my computer that isn't someone using a deliberately crafted earrape file. They would have been better if done in-engine since at least then, it's a consistent visual quality with the rest of the game and not distracting.Īudio is weird. Graphics are mostly good, but cutscenes are blatantly pre-rendered and suffer from massive amounts of artifacting. Got 4 hours in and I don't think I'm getting any further
